Calling all writers, poets, and artists! Submit your work to us by midnight on March 28th for the chance to be published in our 24th annual literary arts magazine!
The theme for this year’s volume: socially-engaged art.
Socially-engaged art works to represent perspectives from all walks of life in order to better understand and create conversation around diverse experiences. Some of these perspectives may include discrimination (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, etc.), environmentalism, poverty, immigration, police brutality, homelessness, and mental illness among others. We seek to create a stronger sense of interconnectedness in this divisive time through representation and recognition of different perspectives in this year’s volume. If you have any other questions about this theme, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org in lieu of an on-campus visit during this time.
While this year’s volume will include a theme of socially-engaged art, we are accepting submissions of all topics.
Submissions guidelines may be found at https://tahomawest.org/submission-guidelines/. We utilize a blind submission process at TAHOMA WEST. Our Editor-In-Chief receives the submissions through our email server. They then distribute the submission to the related genre editor without a name attached in order to engage in discussion and decision around the piece without bias.
Thanks! From all of us at TAHOMA WEST
