WRITE YOUR HEART OUT: A SOCIALLY-ENGAGED WRITING WORKSHOP

Participants will reflect on a personal experience with a social issue and how it has touched them or their community in a significant way. Participants will then randomly receive a genre or set of circumstances in which to convey the power of their experience through creative writing. The group will spend the tail end of the workshop sharing what they have created.

POUR YOUR HEART OUT: A SOCIALLY-ENGAGED PAINTING WORKSHOP

October 9, 2019 5:00-6:30p Whitney Building

Participants will spend time visualizing a social issue that has touched them or their community personally. They will then spend time developing ideas, metaphors, and imagery to convey the emotions of their experience. After working on their painting for the bulk of the workshop, the group will then have the opportunity to share their creations.

SPOOKY STORIES TO WRITE WITH YOUR FRIENDS

Participants will work in a group on a randomly assigned horror prompt. The group will then spend time at the end of the workshop sharing their pieces.

LET’S PAINT THE NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD

Participants will watch the 1968 cult classic, Night of the Living Dead, while painting horror-themed works of art! Happy Halloween!
