Welcome to the updated TAHOMA WEST website! We have so many exciting changes happening this year, from a new staff team to updated submissions guidelines to an out-of-the-box event schedule!
First and foremost, some introductions. My name is Maxine Metzger, and I am the new TAHOMA WEST Editor-in-Chief this year. I am so thrilled to be a part of this publication; we have a bright future here at TAHOMA WEST. On our editorial staff this year, we have our Fiction Editor Khadijah York, Non-Fiction Editor Tiera Nhem, Visual Arts Editor Shiloah Pepin, and returning Poetry Editor Juin Yeh. To learn a little more about each of us, visit our Meet The Editors section.
As I mentioned before, we’re in the midst of a major website overhaul — we have some exciting new features coming soon, so please keep an eye out! Some of our new pages include a brand new Staff Features section, where our readers can browse work written and created by our editorial team, an updated Events section with detailed information regarding this upcoming quarter, and an Online Publication page, where we will begin publishing work directly to our website in addition to our print volume released every Spring. To find out more about how to submit to TAHOMA WEST, visit our Submission Guidelines page.
Additionally, we’ve created an extensive arts-based events schedule for Autumn Quarter that culminates in a special Live Journal Event on November 21st. This event will be both a pop-up art gallery as well as a space where writers can grab the mic and share their work. As we get closer to the date, keep your eyes open for updates on this event as we will have sign-ups for creators! To find out more about our upcoming events, visit our Events section.
As you can see, there are so many different ways to get involved with TAHOMA WEST this year. Whether you’re a consumer of art or a creator, our community has something for you. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or comments — we can always be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. Go Dawgs!
